The West Coast Chabad Lubavitch organization had raised nearly $7.2 million in pledges by late Sunday night during its 27th annual “To Life Telethon,” the organization said on its program.
The event, telecast from Los Angeles and featuring an array of celebrities, raises funds for the Hasidic Jewish organization’s 200 West Coast centers.
They offer services such as drug and alcohol rehabilitation, crisis intervention, counseling, summer camps and programs for the elderly.
