KBIG sounding more like KYSR
The newly reformatted KBIG-FM (104.3) already has appropriated part of KYSR-FM (98.7)’s music playlist -- at one point Friday morning they were both playing the Plain White T’s’ “Hey There Delilah” at the same time -- and now it’s taking one of KYSR’s morning hosts too.
Sean Valentine, a former afternoon DJ at KIIS-FM (102.7) who had teamed with Lisa Foxx on KYSR’s morning show last January, will take over the 5-9 a.m. weekday shift at KBIG on Monday. He replaces Charlie Tuna, who left last Monday when the station started calling itself “104.3MYfm” and introduced a new music lineup that features some of the adult contemporary hits that were on KYSR, which in turn has taken on a somewhat stronger rock flavor.
Other KBIG on-air personalities will resume their former spots Monday after being off the air this week. Both KBIG and KYSR are owned by Clear Channel.
