Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Abel Avina Medina has been arrested on suspicion of violating a court order that barred him from contacting his former girlfriend.
The Orange County district attorney said Medina, 44, showed up at the woman’s workplace July 28 in La Habra.
The Bell Gardens resident was charged Monday and faces one year in jail if convicted. On Tuesday, prosecutors requested bail be set at $50,000.
Medina, a 17-year veteran of the department, has known the woman since 2000, and they have a child.
They separated in July.
