Police are investigating the shooting death of an 18-year-old Quartz Hill man.
Officers found Robert Lee Lett with a gunshot wound to his upper body in the 2600 block of East 56th Way about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, said Nancy Pratt, a Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman.
Lett was taken to Lakewood Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about half an hour later, said Ed Winter, assistant chief of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Detectives said they did not believe Lett was a gang member. Although the motive was unknown, detectives said they believed there were witnesses.
Anyone with information is asked to call homicide Dets. Russ Moss or Terri Hubert at (562) 570-7244.
