John McCain and Barack Obama have agreed to hold three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate this fall, the campaigns said.
The first, on Sept. 26 at the University of Mississippi, will focus on foreign policy and national security and will be moderated by Jim Lehrer.
Next, they will meet Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville for a town-hall-style debate moderated by Tom Brokaw. The third debate, on domestic and economic policy, is Oct. 15 at Long Island’s Hofstra University. Bob Schieffer will moderate.
Vice presidential contenders will meet Oct. 2 at Washington University in St. Louis.
