SOMETHING UP THEIR SLEEVES

Magicians John Shryock and Mari Lynn won’t perform their swords-in-a-box trick when they headline “An Evening of Comedy and Magic” on Saturday at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo. The reason: Lynn can’t squeeze her 7-month pregnant body into that magical box. (But Shryock’s teenage niece will assist for illusions requiring nonbulging bellies.) The evening will feature other magicians, but the Shryock/Lynn finale will cap the show. “It’s a radical variation of Houdini’s strait jacket escape,” he hints.
