Celebrate the debut of husband-and-wife writing team David Hochman and Ruth Kennison’s “The Potty Train,” an ode to the age-old transition from diapers to undies, at Mar Vista Montessori School’s Chugga Chugga Poo Poo Party. Bestselling children’s illustrator Derek Anderson, of “Little Quack” fame, will be on hand for art demonstrations and Pasadena kids’ roots rockers Jambo will provide the music. Best of all, proceeds will benefit Baby2Baby’s mission to help L.A. families in need. With train-themed attractions like a choo-choo ride and a blow-up jumping train, this event will be, as Hochman says, “a little bit of a Disneyland for potty trainers.” He adds, “It’s rare that you get a potty-training event that’s actually fun and not gross.” 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sun., 3865 Grand View Blvd., Mar Vista. Free with donation of unopened diapers. (310) 383-6050
