Re “Skiing accident has snowballed into a public dispute,” Jan. 2

Scott Swimm’s mother ignores the fact that her son seriously injured David J. Pfahler and faults Pfahler for seeking reimbursement for his medical expenses. She asks, “What kind of a message are we sending to our children?” I pose the same question to the Swimms. What message are they sending their son by refusing to pay for injuries he caused? Parents should teach children to accept responsibility -- not shirk it.
