Keep the cabin, lose the attitude

It was interesting to see the house at Crowley Lake built by the Mammoth snowboard shop manager [“Sweet Cabin, Dude” Jan. 10].

A very beautiful use of the site.

I would just like to comment on the owner’s remark that he moved to Crowley as he was “sick of the ‘resorties.’ ”

Sorry, but speaking as a second-home owner in Mammoth for many years, he would not be in business without us.

There is a small percentage of locals at Mammoth who view the skiers with disdain, forgetting we are their only source of income.

Just hope he enjoys his home for a long time.

Oh please, there is nothing natural about a 3,000-plus-square-foot (counting the garage) behemoth in the mountains. Looks more like another yuppie puppy sucking up unnecessary electricity and resources. What is the “carbon footprint” of importing cement board from Denmark?

A snowboarder true to the sport would have a 1,000-square-foot, natural cabin.
