Entertainment executive Heather Parry leaves Live Nation after allegations of bullying

Reporting from San Francisco — A prominent executive has left Beverly Hills-based Live Nation Entertainment after facing allegations of bullying from some employees, the company said.

Heather Parry, who was the company’s president of production, film and television, is stepping down after being placed on leave in December.

Parry, who had been in her job for about three years, oversaw music documentaries, including “Gaga: Five Foot Two” about pop singer Lady Gaga and “Believer,” about Imagine Dragons’ frontman Dan Reynolds dealing with the Mormon Church’s stance on the LGBTQ community.

Parry’s exit came after Live Nation conducted an internal investigation into employee allegations, which included that the executive was verbally abusive. A Live Nation spokeswoman said in a statement that “the work environment Ms. Parry created did not meet our expectation of leadership.”

The investigation did not determine that Parry was racist or homophobic, allegations that were raised by a former staffer and unnamed employees in a Variety article.

Parry in a statement called herself a “tough and brutally honest” boss, adding “through this process I have learned how I can go about being not only a more effective leader but a better person.” She plans to be an independent producer.

While Live Nation owns Ticketmaster and is mainly known for producing live concerts, it has increasingly been involved in the production of films.

The company said in a statement that it is “committed to the Live Nation Productions division and to our pipeline of artist-driven projects which will be led moving forward by current executives Ryan Kroft, Matt Stein and Chad Wasser.”
