Baseball’s Jimmy Rollins seeks $12 million for Encino mansion

Jimmy Rollins hasn’t played professional baseball for three years, but he’s keeping busy in the San Fernando Valley. A month after shelling out $8.7 million for a brand new mansion in Encino, the longtime Philadelphia Phillies star has put his other home in the neighborhood up for sale at $11.99 million.

The mammoth estate, which spans nearly 15,000 square feet, made waves in the community when he bought it last year. Records show he spent $10.65 million, making it the priciest home sale ever recorded in the San Fernando Valley region.

Eight figures go a long way in Encino. On just over half an acre, the grounds holds a massive main residence, two-story guesthouse, cabana, swimming pool, basketball court and putting green.

Gold trim and dual staircases draw the eye in the whitewashed foyer, which enters into a handful of formal living spaces. On the main level, there’s a dining room with paneled walls, a living room with an oversized stone fireplace, a sauna, movie theater and wine cellar.

A loft sits upstairs, leading into a spacious master suite with dual bathrooms and closets. Pocketing doors open to a private balcony. In total, the property holds eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.

Other interior highlights include a wood-paneled office, gym and lap pool under sky-painted ceilings.

A horseshoe-shaped driveway wraps around a fountain in the front, and out back, a patio surrounds a swimming pool.

Rollins, 40, is a three-time all-star and four-time Gold Glove Award-winner who played 17 seasons for the Phillies, Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. He won the NL MVP award in 2007 and led the Phillies to a World Series title a year later.
