‘Enlightened’: Join a live chat with Laura Dern today
- Share via
Join actress Laura Dern and Times staff writer Glenn Whipp for a live video discussion of the actress’ late, great HBO series, “Enlightened,” today at 3:30 p.m. Pacific time.
“What if Lucy [Ricardo] became Norma Rae?” That’s the question Dern posed when pitching “Enlightened” to HBO. In the series, which Dern created with Mike White, she starred as Amy, a naive, deeply flawed woman who undergoes a spiritual awakening and becomes hellbent on bringing down corporate overlords. The series won stellar reviews — and a Golden Globe for Dern — but was canceled in March after two seasons.
We’ll talk to Dern about Amy, the show’s end, what might have been in store for her character and, really, anything you’d like to bring to the table. Just click on the RSVP link above, bring your questions and settle in.
