Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon are ... on a show together

Bobbi Kristina Brown is engaged — or not. Or was, but isn’t now. Or something like that.
Whatever it is, it’s quite the teaser for “The Houstons: On Our Own,” which premieres later this month on Lifetime. The reality show features some of those closest to the late Whitney Houston, including brother and sister-in-law Gary and Patricia Houston, plus Bobbi Kristina, the singer’s daughter with Bobby Brown, and Whitney’s informally adopted “son,” Nick Gordon.
“No one knew that from a godson that you would turn into a boyfriend,” Gary tells Nick, 22. “No one knew that.”
In the teaser, above, originally posted by E! Online, 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina giggles through a “We’re engaged” announcement, which doesn’t go down well with the adults in the room.
“Engagement? This is unacceptable,” Patricia tells the camera.
Unacceptable enough that it’s not currently true, a rep for Bobbi Kristina tells CNN, following up by saying folks “have to watch the show!” Pat Houston earlier this week told ABC News that her niece and Gordon are merely close friends.
Rumors that the two were engaged swirled in March and again in August, eliciting denials both times.
Those who’d like to learn what the heck is going on can tune in at 9 p.m. Oct. 24.
