#Donuting with Manny Castro at the DTLA Art Walk

What could be better than giant donuts, booze and art? Not a lot.
If you plan on taking part in the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk on Thursday, you can catch Los Angeles artist Manny Castro and his giant donuts, plus a little booze. FactoryLA, a company that promotes fashion made and designed in L.A., is hosting the event.
Castro, who is known for his 30-by-30-foot painting of Lady Gaga as Christ and for painting “Tastes Like Hate” on a Chick-fil-A building, will have his donut sculptures on display. Castro’s donuts may look like giant forms of the beloved sweet treat but they are actually made of recycled car tires. Castro will hang his donuts from the rafters in a vacant garment district retail space.
If all the hanging donuts make you want to dig in, try not to attack the sculptures. There will be donut food trucks parked out back so you can munch on some actual fried dough. An open bar will be available for those 21 and over.
The official #donuting will take place from 6 p.m. to midnight at 840 S. Los Angeles St. Admission is free.
