Update: Milwaukee Brewer Jason Kendall has sold a Manhattan Beach home for $5.45 million.
The Mediterranean house, in the “hill section” of the beach community, has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms in 7,398 square feet. There are views of the ocean and Palos Verdes Peninsula, two fireplaces, walnut floors, French doors and a 300-square-foot basement bonus room. A one-bedroom guest suite sits above the detached three-car garage.
Kendall, 35, played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Oakland Athletics and Chicago Cubs before joining the Brewers. He marked his 2,000th career hit in May.
The catcher purchased the two-story house for $3.32 million in 2000, the year it was built. The property came on the market in September at $7.3 million and was withdrawn at the end of April.
Anthony Stellini of Nourmand & Associates, Beverly Hills, listed the home at the beginning of June at $6.3 million. David Caskey of Shorewood Realtors, Hermosa Beach, represented the buyer.
