Taft 61, Cleveland 60
Jordan Farmar made two free throws with no time remaining for Taft after Farmar drew a blocking foul from Corey Duncan on a length of the floor inbounds pass from Alex Drob.
Jason Hill had made one of two free throws with 2.8 seconds remaining to give the Cavaliers a 60-59 lead.
Taft trailed by nine after Young grabbed an offensive rebound and made a short jump shot early in the fourth quarter. But Farmar scored seven of Taft’s next 11 points to give the Toreadors a 54-53 lead with 3:30 remaining in the game, which doubled as a West Valley League opener.
Taft, ranked No. 6, put together a 14-0 run in the first half that gave it a 13-point lead, but No. 14 Cleveland answered with a 15-0 run to move ahead, 26-24.
Farmar scored 22 points to lead Taft. Young had 21 for Cleveland.

Monroe improves to 9-5. Campbell Hall falls to 13-1.
Narbonne 80, St. Bernard 66
Christian Smith scored 32 points and Eules Thompson added 24 points to lead visiting Narbonne. Chris Ceballos scored 14 for St. Bernard (9-5).

Houston Milby 80, Fairfax 53
The Buffaloes (20-0), the top-ranked team in Texas 5A and ranked 18th in the nation, outscored Fairfax, 26-11, in the third quarter to increase a three-point lead to 18 and ran away with the championship game of the Academy National Invitational.Josh Shipp led Fairfax (9-2) with 15 points, but was just six of 25 from the field. Jawann McClellan had a game-high 25 for Milby.
