Desert rivalry: In the Sept. 30 Section A, an article about the rivalry between the cities of Palmdale and Lancaster said that Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris held a “Chuckie doll” — a reference to the “Child’s Play” horror films — and pretended it was Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford. The doll from the series is named “Chucky,” but that was not the doll the mayor used.

Mentally ill inmates: In the Oct. 2 LATExtra section, an article about a federal court hearing on the treatment of mentally ill California prison inmates misidentified an attorney representing the prisoners in the case. He is Jeff Bornstein, not Michael Bornstein.
