Earthquake: Magnitude 3.2 aftershock strikes in Mojave Desert

A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake aftershock was reported Thursday morning 16 miles from China Lake Acres, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:26 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.1 miles.
A 3.5 earthquake was reported at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday in the same area.
According to the USGS, the epicenter of Thursday’s quake was 16 miles from Ridgecrest, 21 miles from California City and 40 miles from Tehachapi.
In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
