5,000 pounds of marijuana seized from Topanga State Park pot farm

Authorities are searching for suspects following the seizure of almost 5,000 pounds of marijuana from a pot farm inside Topanga State Park.
California State Park rangers discovered the marijuana plants while on patrol, and a team of officers removed the mature plants during a raid on Friday, a statement said. Officials valued the pot at $2.5 million.
“The pot farm was divided into seven separate plots, each hidden in the chaparral forest, and the damage to the ecosystem was significant,” said the statement released Monday by the California Department of Parks and Recreation. Officials removed more than 500 pounds of trash from the site.
Authorities said they have evidence of recent activity by several suspects but said they were still searching for them. The statement said the investigation is ongoing.
