Police are searching for the driver of a 2015 Tesla who fled the scene of a collision that left a motorcyclist dead in Pasadena on Thursday.
The collision occurred around 11:43 p.m. at Marengo Avenue and Washington Boulevard, said Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman.
The motorcyclist, a 60-year-old Pasadena resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the 2015 four-door Tesla was apparently heading northbound on Marengo Avenue “at a high rate of speed,” when it collided with the motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson, Goodman said.
The driver abandoned the car, which had significant damage, at the scene.
“It was disabled, that’s why they abandoned it,” Goodman said.
