Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating a double stabbing that left one man dead and another injured early Tuesday in Pico Rivera, authorities said.
The attack occurred shortly before 2 a.m. in the 9900 block of La Docena Lane, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. One man died at the scene, authorities said, and another was taken to a hospital with stab wounds to his upper torso. He is in serious condition, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Neither of the victims was identified.
There was an altercation in the area involving several men before the stabbing, deputies said, and two men were seen running south after the fight. No weapon was recovered and officials don’t know whether the stabbing was gang-related.
Investigators haven’t identified a suspect or motive in the deadly attack, sheriff’s officials said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
