Holiday Boutique will benefit high school
Laguna Beach High School will hold its annual Holiday Boutique
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
A plethora of gifts from many vendors will be sold as a fundraiser
for the high school’s computer program. For information, call (949)

High school dance company presents ‘The Next Step’
The Laguna Beach High School Dance Department and Company will
have its winter dance concert “The Next Step” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday
and Dec. 10 and 11.
The performance at The Artists’ Theatre, 625 Park Ave., includes
ballet, lyrical, tap and jazz. Tickets are $15 for reserved, $10
general and $8 students. For tickets, call (949) 497-7771.
Quest for Excellence
holds public meetings
Quest for Excellence committee invites the public to its regular
meetings at the district office, 550 Blumont St.
Today at the district office the Quest for Excellence full
committee will meet from 9 to 10 a.m., and the Social and Emotional
Education Development committee will meet from 10 a.m. to noon.
A “High Levels of Wellness” meeting will be from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m.
Tuesday at Laguna Beach High School, Room 72.
A “Research and Support” meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. Dec. 10,
following at 9 to 10 a.m. is a Quest for Excellence steering
committee meeting at the district office.
An “Academic Depth Meeting” will be from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 13
at Laguna Beach High School, room 20.

Community Learning
Center to hold concert
Students at the Community Learning Center, housed on Top of the
World Elementary School’s campus, have created a musical venue to
promote their vision of a peaceful world, “We are World Peacemakers.”
Community Learning Center students will perform at Top of the
World school, 21601 Tree Top Lane, for the school’s monthly flag
ceremony Dec. 17.
Red Ribbon Week fundraiser
at Top of the World
For the past several years, students at Top of the World
Elementary School have collected pounds of pennies during Red Ribbon
Week to start a scholarship fund.
The fund is donated to two college-bound Laguna Beach High
students who have remained drug, alcohol and tobacco free through
school. This year the students donated 400 pounds in pennies. Last
year the donation exceeded $1,200.
No December meeting
for Coffee Break
There will be not be a Coffee Break meeting in December due to the
holidays. The next Coffee Break will be from 8:15 to 10 a.m. Jan. 19
at the Surf and Sand Hotel, 1555 S. Coast Highway, featuring Richard
Du Four who is nationally acclaimed for creating learning
communities.
