USC football: Trojans remaining physical despite injuries
- Share via
At one point this week, nearly two dozen USC players were unavailable for contact drills because of injuries.
But USC Coach Lane Kiffin said the Trojans would scrimmage at full speed with tackling Friday at the Coliseum.
“We need to remain physical,” Kiffin said Thursday. “We need to continue to tackle, we need to make sure that our guys that are healthy are doing it in the setting of the Coliseum.
“We expect a really long, physical scrimmage with whoever’s out there.”
Receivers Marqise Lee, Nelson Agholor and Darreus Rogers as well as tailbacks Silas Redd, Tre Madden and Justin Davis are among the players who have been sidelined or are wearing yellow jerseys to warn defensive players against making contact.
The Trojans went through their second-to-last double day workout Thursday.
USC opens its season Aug. 29 at Hawaii.
