A look at Tuesday’s Game 4 matchup between the Dodgers and the Nationals

STARTING PITCHERS

Dodgers’ Julio Urias (5-2, 3.39 ERA)

Nationals’ Joe Ross (7-5, 3.43 ERA)

Neither team is saying with any specificity that the pitchers they list as starters will actually be the starters. They are merely on the schedule. Since his Game 1 start Friday in Washington, the Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw has prepared as he would if Tuesday was his start day, and it should surprise few if he did draw the short-rest start.

“We just haven’t decided as an organization what makes the most sense,” Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts said.

For the Nationals, ace Max Scherzer is in a position similar to Kershaw. Ross, a right-hander, is fresh, having last pitched on Sept. 29. If the matchup ends up being Urias against Ross, it would be a rematch of a game at Dodger Stadium in June. Urias, the 20-year-old phenom left-hander, was making his sixth major league start. He allowed two runs over five innings in a game the Dodgers won. Corey Seager and Yasiel Puig have each homered off Ross.
