Boys’ basketball: Fairfax defeats Taft in Open Division consolation game

After struggling last week in a City Section Division I semifinal loss to Narbonne, Fairfax recovered on Tuesday to defeat Taft, 62-54, in a consolation game.
Sophomore Jamal Hartwell scored 16 points and freshman Ethan Anderson had 13 points. Kesean Davis scored 16 points for Taft.
Birmingham defeated Dorsey, 73-66. Devante Doutrive scored 29 points and had 10 rebounds.
In Southern Section Open Division consolation games, Crespi defeated Corona Centennial, 85-75. Sophomore Brandon Williams scored 32 points.
Leland Green scored 26 points in Redondo’s 82-70 win over Alemany. Shacquille Dawkins had 20 points for Alemany.
