On Friday, Jordan Clarkson was named the NBA’s Western Conference rookie of the month for March.
The guard, taken by the Lakers with the 46th pick in the 2014 NBA draft after a trade with the Washington Wizards, averaged 15.8 points, 5.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds through 16 games last month.
Against the Philadelphia 76ers, Clarkson tallied 26 points, 11 assists, six rebounds and three steals. He also hit a career-high with 30 points against the Thunder.
Nikola Mirotic (Chicago Bulls) received the award for the Eastern Conference.
Clarkson is the first Laker to ever receive the honor, which started during the 1981-82 season.
The Lakers have the Missouri guard under contract next season at a non-guaranteed league minimum of $845,059.
