UCLA women’s sophomore guard Kari Korver to miss season

Kari Korver, UCLA’s sophomore shooting guard and best three-point threat, will miss the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a tear in the lateral meniscus on her right knee.
UCLA Coach Cori Close said Korver’s loss was “disappointing for Kari and our program. My heart goes out to her.”
As a freshman Korver averaged 4.7 points and 1.5 rebounds a game and led the team in three-point field goals made (38) and attempted (110) for a 34.5 percentage beyond the arc, second on the team. She also led the Bruins in free throw shooting, makeing 23 of 25 attempts, 92%.
Korver, the cousin of NBA player Kyle Korver, also missed her senior year at Cerritos Valley Christian High with a left knee injury in 2011-2012.
