UCLA defensive players Kenny Clark, Myles Jack and Fabian Moreau have been named to the Bronco Nagurski Award watchlist. The award is presented annually by the Football Writers of America Assn. to its choice as college football’s top defensive player.
Jack was previously placed on the Paul Hornung Award and Chuck Bednarik Award watchlists while Clark was also on the Bednarik and was named to the Outland watchlist Friday.
The Bruins landed a player from each of the three defensive levels on the Nagurski watchlist Friday, with Clark on the line, Jack at linebacker and Moreau in the secondary.
Jack is the team’s top returning tackler after accumulating 88 tackles last season. Clark and Moreau are third and fourth, respectively, among returning tacklers. Clark had 58 tackles, including 5 1/2 for loss. Moreau had 53.
Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright III, who won the Nagurski Award last season, is one of 10 Pac-12 Conference players on the 88-player watchlist.
The Bruins open training camp in San Bernardino on Aug. 10 in preparation for their season opener against Virginia on Sept. 5 at the Rose Bowl.
