A 16-year-old boy who is being charged as an adult in the fatal stabbing last month of a Fillmore man pleaded not guilty in Ventura County Municipal Court on Thursday.
Armando Murillo of Fillmore will be back in court Feb. 15 for a preliminary hearing to determine whether prosecutors have sufficient evidence to try him.
Judge Bruce A. Clark set bail at $250,000. Deputy Dist. Atty. Michael K. Frawley said outside court that Murillo will remain in juvenile detention and not with the adult inmates at the Ventura County Jail.
Murillo is charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of Rodolfo Molina Mora, 27. The victim died after an altercation with the defendant in the 700 block of Blaine Street in Fillmore on Dec. 11.
